ARM Summary Across Trials

ARM ST (Summary Across Trials) is an add-in option that fits into an installed ARM program.

  • This valuable tool combines and averages similar assessments in ARM trials across locations and years.
  • ARM ST helps researchers average and report similar trials conducted at several locations, or multiyear trials.
  • Because ARM ST uses the ARM interface, an experienced ARM user can readily learn to use ARM ST.
  • Product managers can use ARM ST to average results for a trial series based on a common protocol.
  • ARM ST aids in planning research by identifying existing trials with a specific treatment or group of treatments, and then listing all assessments for those treatments.

The ARM ST author was a crop protection researcher for more than twenty years, and understands your research needs. We encourage users to call with their computer questions and ideas. Many ARM ST features are suggestions from our current clients. GDM provides free support for the current version of all software that GDM markets.

See our ARM ST Brochure (en español) for more information about Summary across Trials.

System Requirements for ARM software

Requirements for ARM and its add-ins are based on minimum software required to support Microsoft .NET 4.8 runtime, plus hardware to provide adequate software performance for typical tasks. Recommended system configuration is:
  • Windows 10 or Windows 11
  • 1.5 GHz or faster processor
  • 2 GB or more of RAM (recommend at least 4 GB,
8 GB improves performance for intensive tasks)
  • 2 GB available hard disk space
  • 1024 x 768 minimum display resolution (recommend 1280 x 900 or higher)
  • Mouse or pointing device
  • Printer
  • A Windows user account with all required user rights and permissions (pdf) to properly use and update the programs
  • Internet access (update checks must occur at least every 3 weeks to keep ARM working)
  • Recommend one physically separate drive for automatic ARM study backups (SD or microSD recommended; USB flash drive, second hard drive, or network drive)
  • Optional USB connection for Tablet Data Collector
  • Print to Excel, Push/Pull, and Report Link features require Microsoft Excel 2003 or newer
  • Send To feature requires a MAPI-enabled email program such as Microsoft Outlook
  • Creating Outlook appointments for scheduled trial tasks requires Microsoft Outlook
